From the V.I.P Seats - First night in De Vinger

This Thursday the first night of the Guild at De Vinger was really exiting. Markowski (singer/songwriter Sonja Markowski on Takamine and Jan van Bijnen on Fender) played her set before a small audience. Very beautiful acoustic songs, with the warm voice of Sonja and the well played electric and lapsteel riffs of Jan kept me listening. The new song Dear mr. Ray was another jewel. I was surprised hearing her announcing the last song. Time flies when you’re enjoying good music!
Then Lisa Graciano came to teach us some musical lessons. If I may say: a woman with balls! Wow, she played some blues songs, mixed with country, in a very strong fingerpicking style combined with a bottleneck slide. You got to heat that. She’s got personality and treated us to a convincing performance.
Those who didn’t show up this time: you’ve missed something! Go and see Markowksi and Lisa Graciano somewhere else. And don’t forget to come some other time at De Vinger; the artists deserve a lot more audience.
